Our news

Wattlesborough Village Hall exists to support our local communities. It is a non profit making charity run purely by a small team of volunteers.

The charity invests all of its money in the ongoing development of social opportunities and the upkeep of the physical facilities.

We are constantly trying to make our hall a better space for our community whether that is by encouraging people to offer new clubs or classes,  through grant funded big projects or through incremental physical improvements.

Our Best Christmas Market ever!.

Our annual Christmas Market went brilliantly on November 16th.

We had more than twenty stalls selling everything from quilts to Brownies, table toppers to jewellery, string bowls to parsnips, turned wood, to preserves ...... you name it, all produced and made locally by some brilliant crafters and producers.

The support of a steady stream of customers not only made the stall holders happy but also helped us to raise over £400 for the hall from stall hire fees and the sale of copious cups of tea and mountains of homemade cakes.

Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success.

New FREE chair based exercise class.

Thanks to the National Lottery and Shropshire Social Services, we are able to offer our communities a free chair based exercise class. We have recieved funding for two years to pay for the hall costs, our pilates coach Olivia and a limited amount of transport to those who struggle to get to the hall.

The big new car park.

Now the work is all finished, we'd like to say a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who helped raise the money required. In particular the Princes Countryside Fund, The Garfield Weston Foundation, The Bernard Sunley Foundation, Alberbury with Cardeston Parish Council and Shirl & Robert Andrews. Thanks also to everyone who came to any of the fundraining events.

Thank you Premier Surfacing for a fantastic job! Not only did they lay a great Tarmac surface but they added some little touches like gravelling around the drains, adding in spillways, topsoiling the edges for new grass and even filling in the pothole in the roadway outside the gate!

We think you'll agree that it looks a lot better than the old surface?
