The chair, Beryl Marsden and deputy chair, Maureen Shingler have recently resigned their positions. As a result, it was decided at the last show meeting to amalgamate the village hall and village show comittees. This seemed sensible as many people sat on both comittees anyway. The meetings are still open to anybody but are likely to now be at the Hall rather than the Windmill pub.
The next one is on Tuesday 3rd December at 7.30pm in the meeting room at the hall.
Thank you to everyone who supported this years show: Our Sponsors, the Judges and Stewards, Helpers, Friends, 1119 Squadron (Shrewsbury) ATC and everyone who entered the classes or just bought a cup of tea!
Due to unfortunate circumstances, our attendance was down by more than 50% but everyone we've spoken to thought that it was still a good show. It was really good to see some new names on the entrants list especially the children!
There were many positive comments like "WOW, the hall looks fantastic" and "It's just so lovely and friendly". My personal favourite was when passing on a judge's comments to a lady who hadn't entered the photography classes before: "wow, thanks! I'll be sure to enter more next year". That's what we want. Don't be scared, have a go and see what happens. If you don't do well, talk to the people who did. Without exception they're happy to pass on their knowledge.
Have a look at our "Tips for new entrants" page to get you started.
As always, next years show will be on the first Saturday in September so 5th September 2020
